Pin your thoughts on our interactive map
*This map closes on Friday 8 October*
We want to hear about your current experiences and views of the local area where the Tendring Colchester Borders Garden Community is planned to come forward.
You may already use or visit the area often, or recently discovered and explored it it. Tell us what you have found.
Is there a footpath the local community often use? Is there a tree that has a special meaning to you? Is there a foot bridge in need of repair?
You can drop a pin on our interactive map below to identify assets, opportunities and issues within the local area. You may even have a photo to add, we would love to see those too!
The map sets out the 'Area of Search' within which the Tendring Colchester Borders Garden Community is to be located. This was adopted as part of the shared Strategic Section 1 Local Plan (see the useful document on this page) and where the masterplanning process will evolve to set out where development and open spaces will be located.
The Area of Search for the Garden Community
Select from three different colour pins to tell us about how you already use the local area. What features and areas are important to you and why. What areas do you think have the potential to be improved as part of the Garden Community? Are there existing problems or issues in the local area, this could be an opportunity to turn the negative into a positive through the project?
Click the '+' sign to add a pin. The pins to select from are:
Green - Asset - What particular features are important to you?
Blue - Opportunity - Is there a chance to enhance something already within the local area? A building? Open Space? Footpath? Something else?
Red - Issue - Is there an existing problem or issue that could be addressed as part of the project?
Once you drop a pin, you can briefly tell us why you have done so.
You can also upload a picture to show us the features/areas, alongside your pin.
Please note: Please only submit your own photos and do not use photos owned by others without their permission. If you upload a photo containing an image of someone, you must do so on the basis that you have their permission to appear in the photo you are submitting to this website. By uploading a photo/s you give permission to the Tendring Colchester Borders Garden Community project to use any of the uploaded photos in its social media, press and publicity, websites and e-newsletters. This may also include the upcoming Development Plan Document and any other promotional, consultation and/or engagement activity.
