About the Draft Plan Consultation
From 14 March - 25 April 2022 we ran a consultation on our Draft Plan for the Tendring Colchester Borders Garden Community. This Draft Plan (or
Regulation 18) consultation was a part of the statutory plan making process under the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) Regulations 2012.
Leading up to the consultation, we ran a series of informal engagement activities between February and October 2021, to capture ideas and aspirations from residents and stakeholders. These ideas were valuable in helping the partner Councils produce the Draft Plan.
In total we received 620 comments ('representations') from 193 stakeholders and members of the public, in direct response to the Draft Plan consultation.
You can view the comments we received on our Draft Plan by downloading the Regulation 18 Representations Spreadsheet on this page. The spreadsheet splits out the comments we received, per policy.
Where we received very lengthy representations, or longer files attached to emails - they are hyperlinked in the spreadsheet and can also be found in the Representation Documents section on this page.
Download the Regulation 18 Representations Spreadsheet here.
The partner Councils will now review all of the comments received and consider what updates or changes need to be made as we work towards the 'submission version' (the final version) of the Plan.
The submission version of the Plan will go through another consultation towards the end of 2022/beginning of 2023.
The submission version of the Plan, along with all the comments received from the consultation, will be considered by the Councils and a decision will be taken as to whether it should be submitted to the Secretary of State for an 'Examination in Public'. This will be conducted by an independent Planning Inspector.
As per the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) Regulations 2012, the Councils will need to demonstrate how we considered the comments from the Draft Plan consultation, when submitting the Plan.
(The above timeframes are indicative and may be subject to change).
